"I’m a nobody. Or so that’s what I’ve told myself my whole life. I got married young, like really young at the age of 18. I thought I was in love. Turns out I actually was, too. Considering after 16 years of dealing with things like severe poverty, the death of a child, extreme mental illness, even a natural disaster (Hurricane Harvey), just to name a few… we’re still together and as madly in love as we were the day we got married! I don’t have any credentials to write a book. Plus, to make it worse, I’m dyslexic and my entire life, reading has been difficult. Despite everything against me, the one thing I do know how to do, and do well, is tell stories. It’s a gift. Ever since I was young, I’ve been able to tell stories in a way that most people can’t. It’s like the words are breathed into me and I can write them down before my mind even knows what I’m about to write. You add that to the character life has already instilled in me, and you’re about to get a story that feels real and raw even though it’s technically fiction.
